EDUCATION DEPARTMENT SEMINAR
The Department of Education, Bethany Christian College, Family Lane, Bijang, Churachandpur, Manipur, organized a Departmental Seminar on 29 September 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at the BCC Smart Room, Ground Floor. The seminar was organized as an academic platform for students and faculty members to enhance their knowledge, exchange ideas, and develop a deeper understanding of important issues in the field of education.
1. Compere
The programme was conducted according to the following outline:
The programme was moderated by Nehkhohao, 5th Semester, who served as the compere for the seminar. The compere coordinated the different sessions and guided the programme smoothly from one segment to another.
2. Welcome Address
The programme began with the Welcome Address delivered by Asst. Prof. Melody Laltlingzo Inbuon, HoD, Education Department. The welcome address formally welcomed the faculty members, presenters, and students to the departmental seminar and highlighted the importance of academic interaction and learning.
3. Special Number
Following the welcome address, a Special Number was presented by Angela and Lamneihoi, 1st Semester. Their presentation added a pleasant and engaging element to the programme.
4. Presentations
The main academic session consisted of two presentations:
First Presentation:
Asst. Prof. Lammimthang Tuboi presented on the topic “Kothari Commission (1964–66)”. The presentation focused on the significant recommendations and contributions of the Kothari Commission to Indian education.
Second Presentation:
Jenny Suanngaimuan Zou presented on “Tools and Techniques of Educational Evaluation.” The presentation dealt with various tools and techniques used in the process of educational evaluation and their relevance in assessing learners’ progress and achievement.
Both presentations provided valuable academic insights and encouraged the participants to develop a better understanding of the respective topics.
5. Speech
A speech was delivered by Asst. Prof. Seikholal Haokip 1IQAC Coordinator. The speech provided further academic encouragement and highlighted the importance of active participation in seminars and other academic activities.
6. Vote of Thanks
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Kimnejou, 5th Semester. The speaker expressed gratitude to the college authorities, Head of the Department, faculty members, presenters, students, and everyone who contributed to the successful organization of the seminar.
7. Rapporteur
The proceedings of the seminar were documented by Rabina Khawlremkim, 3rd Semester, who served as the Rapporteur.
Conclusion
The departmental seminar was a meaningful academic programme that provided an opportunity for students and faculty members to share knowledge and engage with important educational issues. The presentations on the Kothari Commission (1964–66) and Tools and Techniques of Educational Evaluation were particularly relevant to the study of education. The active participation of the presenters, students, and faculty members contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
