Education

This 4-year B.A. Under-Graduate Academic Programme in Education shall follow strictly the general guidelines laid down in the Ordinance for Undergraduate Programmes in Science, Arts and Commerce, 2021 from the academic session 2022-23 onwards so as to enable the learners choose some courses based on their interest and aptitude.
After the completion of the course at different stages, learners will be awarded a certificate, diploma, degree, degree with honours/degree with research by Manipur University, Canchipur, Imphal.
The syllabus contained 18 core papers, four Discipline Specific Electives, a Skill Enhancement Course, an Ability Enhancement Compulsory course, and a Value Addition Course.
The learning objectives of the syllabus includes:
To understand the meaning, nature, scope, and aims of education, Acquire knowledge of education and their interrelationship, and knowledge of different agencies of education that influence education.
To emphasize how philosophical ideas about education are built up. To develop how ideas have influenced mankind in ways of life and their advancement To understand the meaning and importance of Sociology, the Relationship between Sociology and Education, the concept and scope of educational sociology, and the sociology of education
To make the students understand the relationship between education and psychology.
To explain the need for educational psychology in the teaching-learning process.
To acquaint the students with the development of education.
To develop an understanding of the concept of educational management and administration.
To Help the students understand the concept, needs and importance of guidance and counselling.
To develop an understanding of the use of computer in education and communications
To analyse the different bases of curriculum. Critically evaluate the national
curriculum frameworks and discuss on role of local, State and national agencies in curriculum development.
To understand the concept, nature and scope of Inclusive Education and the different types of disabilities.
To acquaint the students with the basic concepts and practices adopted in educational measurement and evaluation, tools and techniques of measurement and evaluation, and Develop skills and competencies in constructing and standardizing a test.
To compute different Statistical Measures, understand and apply various statistical techniques to field-based educational data.

To understand concepts of research and educational research, Learn basic knowledge of conducting research.
To Understand the role of the nursing mother and its educational implications, Understand child-rearing practices and child rights and their protection.
To acquaint the students with skills of ICT tools.
