Bethany Christian College and King Sejong Institute join hands to bring Korean culture to the district.
In a significant step toward cultural exchange and global education, Bethany Christian College, in collaboration with King Sejong Institute Imphal, is organizing a grand cultural event titled ‘Experiencing Korea’ on 22nd August 2026. The event aims to promote Korean culture and Korean language studies throughout the district.
King Sejong Institute Imphal, an institution established by the Government of Korea, operates across 150 centers worldwide, with a dedicated mission to promote the Korean language and culture across the globe. This collaboration marks a valuable opportunity for the youth of Churachandpur to engage with Korean heritage firsthand.
A Kaleidoscope of Korean Culture:
The event prepares a vibrant array of interactive stalls, open for public access. Visitors can look forward to:K-Food Stall – an opportunity to savor authentic Korean cuisineCalligraphy Stall – a glimpse into the elegance of Korean traditional writingGames and Lucky Draw Stall – fun-filled activities with exciting prizesKorean Language Education Stall – insights into language learning programs and scholarshipsKorean Traditional Dress Stall – a chance to try on the iconic traditional Korean attire, the ‘Hanbok’
The Event promotes Gateway to Study and Work in Korea:
The Korean Government has introduced scholarship opportunities for young generations to study and work in Korea through the newly launched E7M visa. However, to be eligible for this study scholarship, applicants must possess basic knowledge of the Korean language and a sound understanding of Korean culture.
To address the basic requirements, Bethany Christian College, in collaboration with King Sejong Institute Imphal, has launched a dedicated Korean Language Course at the college campus. The course is designed to equip students with language skill and cultural foundation required to seize these international opportunities.
Registration for the Korean Language Course is currently ongoing, with classes scheduled to commence from 1st September 2026. Desirable candidates include students from Class 11 up to Degree 6th Semester, as well as those who have already graduated this year.
