THE 54TH TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION 2026

Bethany Christian Hr. Sec. School celebrated it’s 54th Teachers’ Day on September 4, 2026, at the BCC Auditorium from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The celebration was organized entirely by the students as a heartfelt expression of their love, gratitude, and appreciation for the teachers who continually guide and inspire them. The programme was graced by Uncle Kam Za Mung, Principal, BCHSS, and Aunty Hathoi, Secretary, Bethany Christian Institute, as the Chief Guests. The programme was hosted by Lianmalzawl of Class XI A and Lhingngaimoi of Class XI Science. The celebration began with the teachers being warmly welcomed into the auditorium with a big round of applause and the presentation of boutonnieres. Opening prayer was led by Uncle Seilal, Office Superintendent. The Chief Guests were then welcomed with bouquets presented by the Vice Principal, Aunty Grace.

A warm welcome speech was delivered by Chinneihoi of Class X, setting a joyful and appreciative tone for the celebration. The programme that followed was filled with a variety of entertaining and meaningful presentations by students from the Rainbow Section through Class XII. These included group songs, band performances, cultural dances, gospel choreographies, and skits. Each presentation reflected the students’ creativity and their sincere appreciation for their teachers. Uncle Mung, Chief Guest, addressed the gathering, reminding everyone of the three aims of Bethany: being born again, becoming fluent in English and raising godly future leaders. A special Teachers’ Day speech was delivered by Ningthennem of Class XII B, highlighting the important role of teachers in shaping the lives, character, and future of their students. Representing the teaching fraternity, Aunty Lhingboi, Section In-charge of the Rainbow Section, and Uncle Kaikhogin, Lecturer in Political Science and Thadou Kuki, shared their thoughts and reflections. Their words added a meaningful dimension to the celebration and expressed the teachers’ appreciation for the students’ thoughtful efforts.

One of the major highlights of the programme was the ice-breaker session, during which the teachers themselves participated in various fun and engaging activities. The session created an atmosphere of laughter, fellowship, and enjoyment, allowing the teachers to take a
refreshing break from their usual roles. A special lottery was also conducted to select the luckiest teacher duo, with Aunty Lhingboi and Uncle Reuben emerging as the winners.

As a token of appreciation, every teacher was presented with a Teachers’ Day mug by the students. The celebration then moved into a special time of blessing. The Chaplain, Pastor Thonggin, led the students in speaking a blessing over the teachers from the words of Numbers 6:24–26. He then prayed for God’s continued blessing, strength, wisdom, and
guidance upon all the teachers. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Aunty Grace, Vice Principal, followed by the closing prayer led by Uncle Jangneh, Academic Coordinator. Refreshments were served to the teachers and students at the conclusion of the
programme.

The 54th Teachers’ Day Celebration was a great success and a memorable occasion for both teachers and students. The joy, creativity, and sincere efforts displayed by the students made the celebration particularly special. The fact that the entire programme was planned, arranged, and funded by the students of the school made it an especially meaningful expression of gratitude towards their teachers. The school expresses its sincere appreciation
to all the students who worked tirelessly to make the celebration possible. Special thanks are also extended to Principal Uncle Kam Za Mung for sponsoring the sound system, which greatly contributed to the smooth and successful conduct of the programme. The celebration ended on a joyful and thankful note, leaving both teachers and students with cherished memories of a day dedicated to honouring the invaluable contribution of teachers.
